Happy Veteran’s Day

While this day should hold incredible meaning each and every year, with so much turmoil and sadness in 2020, Veteran’s Day is especially important this year. This is a day we can give our thanks to the men and women who have served our country. They have kept us safe, secure and free. They are truly real life superheroes. They don’t use capes, swords or superpowers, but they do have incredible strength, loyalty and bravery. My Grandpa was a veteran. My dad is a veteran. Two men in my life who represent those qualities and so much more. My heroes!

I recently heard about an amazing organization that celebrates the lives and service of the veteran’s who are no longer with us. Wreaths Across America is a non-profit that was founded to continue and expand on the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. This cemetery moves me to tears. It’s such a special place where so many of our country’s veterans are laid to rest. Wreaths Across America also coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at thousands of other cemeteries across the country as well. These ceremonies take place in December. Maybe one way you can say thank you this Veteran’s Day is to sponsor a wreath.

Step away from the politics that are consuming our lives today and reflect on what’s truly important. All of us coming together to celebrate the freedoms we have as Americans. We owe a big part of this to our veterans, so take a minute today to thank them. If you don’t know any personally, put a nice message on social media. I guarantee it will be viewed by someone it will impact – maybe a veteran themselves, maybe their family. Thank those who work with our veterans, like the team at US Vets (you can make a donation to their efforts here). And if you’re so inclined connect with Wreaths Across America and sponsor a wreath.

God Bless America & God Bless Veterans,
