If you have been on Instagram or Pinterest at all in the last month, you know that the rest of the world is out at an apple orchard, or so it seems! It was almost as if October 1 hit, and my feeds blew up with apple bombs. Regardless of the fact that October has been granting us amazing summer-like weather, people are holding to tradition and making their annual trip to the orchard. Of course, I am no different. Although, in what I go there for, I might be. No, it’s not the donuts or the apples I crave. What I want each fall is the apple cider slushies from the local orchard near my hometown in Michigan. I have loved slushies my whole life, and there is nothing more fitting for fall than an apple cider one. I also think the orchard is great because it’s a good excuse to spend an afternoon outdoors, doing something festive with your family and/or friends.
Since our weather here in the Midwest has been so wonderful, this year I did not even need a jacket – just a pair of jeans, a cute gingham wrap top (hello amazing puffy sleeves!) some fall-colored flats, and a natural wood tote. Comfortable and stylish, and definitely on trend for fall. I have to ask, is anyone else loving bell and puffy sleeves as much as I am? I think they are so fabulous, and I am very happy they are all over at the moment. What other trends are you falling for this season? (Pun totally intended!) I should also disclose that I did not make an apple pie, nor carve a pumpkin, with my purchases. Unlike, again from what I see on social media, the rest of the world did. But I did eat those yummy apples, and I did paint pumpkins with my niece, so my October bucket list has been fulfilled!
