It is safe to say that fall has arrived for most of us here in the US. The skies are a little gloomier, the air is a little crisper and the leaves are a lot more colorful. It’s a season of change and a season to pull out favorite sweaters! While I don’t really love the cooler temps, I do love the fashion that we get to wear in the midwest during this time of year. We get to wear layers, comfy leather pants, chunkier shoes, cool hats and coats – and we all know how I feel about a good coat. And if you don’t know, if you could see my overloaded coat closet, you’d get it.

The sandals get tucked away this time of year and we get to pull out our cool weather, closed-toe shoes. But cool weather shoes doesn’t mean uncool shoes. Right now, chunky sneakers and funky patterns are all the rage. I am a self diagnosed shoe-aholic, and I won’t lie, I have a lot of tall, pointy, uncomfortable shoes, and I will push through the pain for the right reason. But in everyday life, I am so thankful that there are so many sleek, sophisticated and far from boring flat shoe options! This fall, I am loving Yosi Samra for helping us fashionistas to put our best foot (well, feet!) forward. Their shoes are unique (which I love because who wants to look like everyone else), modern, stylish, trendy while being classic and best of all comfortable!

In the summertime, I live in dresses. They are easy, comfortable and most often just one piece. But, during a season where we can wear multiple pieces of clothing I really try to have fun mixing and matching. I buy pieces I know I can wear in multiple ways; these shoes for example, easily go with leather pants, but they would look sleek with jeans too. A hat can be worn dressed down with casual accessories for daytime, or dressed up with a sexier shoe and maybe a dress and trench coat for evening. When you have the chance to wear multiple pieces you really have the chance to flaunt your fashion. It’s the reason for the season, if you ask me.
