Happy Halloween! This composition of Come & Knock On My Door is very near and dear to my heart. I am taking you to my hometown, right into  the middle of the mitten. I’d like to welcome you to Flushing, MI! (If you are unfamiliar, Michiganders often use our hand, aka mitten to show where we’re from.)

As you will see from these adorable doors, there is a lot of character in my hometown. It’s a small community, with just two stoplights downtown, but within its circumfrence, there is an abundance of charm. Growing up in a small town you always dream of leaving your little world,  to go into the big world, where you think everything is bound to be bigger and better. But often, once you have called somewhere more metropolitan home, you realize the place you came from is special in a very unqiue way. There are homes I loved driving by as a kid, on my way to school or dance class, that I still love driving by today, as I pass through town on my way home to visit family. These are some of those homes! Wouldn’t you love to knock and say “Trick or Treat?“
