My Most Complimented Look of All Time

This is the look that keeps on giving. Giving compliments that is! This incredible jumpsuit (yes, there are pants hidden in there) is my most complimented look of ALL TIME. And not to brag, but I was voted Best Dressed in high school and studied fashion design in college, so I have been receiving compliments on my style for many years. I know, that may sound a bit conceited – and many people might wonder, “Sarah, why you need outside validation for you own fashion choices?” This is a compounded answer…

When you are a fashion girly and love styling your looks each and every day, putting all your heart into it, it’s a wonderful feeling to step out onto the runway, I mean out into the world, and get accolades. It’s just that little reminder that your love for fashion and your own style doesn’t go unnoticed. When you make bold, colorful fashion choices, it’s certainly harder to go unnoticed, but still, it’s a great feeling to know that maybe you inspired the person who gave you the compliment and they will take a risk in showing their style to the world.

Now, on the other end of that, you should not need validation in how you dress. I say it often – but fashion is a form of self expression. You should choose pieces that make you comfortable, make you happy and help you represent your mood, your passions and your style. Sometimes what we love, others won’t, and that’s okay. Just because you don’t receive a compliment on something you wear, doesn’t mean it’s not equally as fabulous. Fashion should first and foremost be for you. Dress FOR YOU, and when you do that, you’ll be happy and that will radiate to others, and hopefully be a source of inspiration for them too.
