The Best Designs from WestEdge 2024

Every fall, in the heart of Santa Monica, nestled inside the famed Barker Hangar, interior inspiration comes to life. For an entire weekend WestEdge Design Fair showcases the best in modern design, offering attendees the chance to shop the latest designs from premium home furnishings brands, including both established and up-and-coming names. The weekend includes panel discussions, culinary demonstrations, workshops and parties, all in an environment designed to engage, entertain and inspire designers, fabricators, influencers, media and more. Guests walk away with ideas for their own homes, or their clients’ homes, new products they can use and most importantly, inspiration for the future.

The opening night party is a see-and-be-seen event in the world of design! With music pumping throughout the venue, cocktails flowing, yummy bites being grilled (yes, they showcase outdoor designs, including grills as well) and lots of mingling happening, guests kick-off the WestEdge weekend in high style. Would you expect anything less from the world of luxury design? I love attending this event and getting inspiration for my own spaces and am thrilled to share it with you. Here is a look at my TOP 5 DESIGNS from the 2024 WestEdge Design Fair.

Which will you be bringing into your home?

  1. Flavor Pop Wallpaper: Wallpaper previously had a reputation of being stuffy and dated. But that is not the case today, and I for one am so happy about that! Wallpaper can make a space pop, and truly bring it to life. It makes the space more immersive. I have wallpaper in my own home and it brings me joy each time I walk into the room! After seeing Flavor Pops wallpaper at WestEdge, I now need to figure out the next space I will be papering. To say their designs are unique would be an understatement. They are fun, funky, personal and bring a brand new flair to the space. Take their scented papers for example, yes, you read that right – you can scratch and sniff bananas on your wall. My favorite peper from their line is the Los Angeles Toille. It incorporates landmarks from a city I love, along with cheeky things sprinkled in, like traffic and the OJ Simpson car chase, in a beautiful and subtle way.
  2. Trina Turk x Tesselle Tile: More people are using tile today and in more places. It’s not just for the bathroom and the backsplash anymore. Since it’s so widely used and in so many spaces, the options are endless. I love Tesselle’s partnership with Trina Turk because it’s a nod to 1960’s mid-century modern design but with updated colors and silhouettes. It would be beautiful in a bathroom, a kitchen, a laundry room or even outdoors, and bound to be a timeless addition to any home. Just like Trina Turk’s fashions, this tile is stunning.
  3. Lucille Studio Wood Panels: When you think of wood panels you probably envision a dark den from the 1970’s with ugly laminated panels. While those may never come back in style, paneling certainly has. These days though, paneling is a true art form and can be used in a variety of spaces in a variety of ways. Lucille Studio custom makes their panels, or should I say works of art, which would add depth, texture and warmth to any home. They can be used on the floor, the walls or even the ceiling.  modern wood panels
  4. Sisyphus Industries Sand Tables: These are not the sand tables you likely envision when reading those words. They are not built for children for sensory play, however it could be argued they are works of art for adult sensory enjoyment. These tables take kinetic art to the next level! Each table is constantly in motion to create designs of your desire. With an app you can pick lighting color, sand design and even create your very own artwork. Not only are these beautiful pieces of furniture, they are mesmerizing displays that could calm and relax anyone. I highly encourage you to view these tables in motion on their website.
  5. Malubi Wired Speakers: This company has somehow found a way to transform sound into art. Their speakers are sculptural accents to any room. Not only do they look good, but they serve a purpose – they help you not only hear incredible sounds from your TV’s and stereos, but truly immerse you into it with incredible options for luxurious surround sound. Gone are the days of black box speakers spaced around your room or trying to hide the speakers.
