Come & Knock On My Door: Palm Springs

It’s been a minute since I did a post in this series, and there is no better location to bring it back than Palm Springs! Last week I took you to one of my favorite bright, bold entryways in Palm Springs, and today I am showing you even more. With its storied mid-century modern past, Palm Springs is a mecca for architecture and design. Most residents embrace this nostalgia and whimsy and don’t shy away from letting their colors fly freely – whether that be in the interiors of their home (look up Airbnb’s in the area and you will see so many fun spaces), or the exteriors. While most homes are actually more muted in color, the doors have many stand out moments. A front door afterall should be a sneak peek into what you’ll see when you step inside!

Yes, you’d probably quickly recognize the white homes with breeze blocks and poppy front doors, those are an iconic part of Palm Springs. But, I love that each neighborhood of Palm Springs has a different vibe, and different architecture. I wanted to highlight a little from each in this article.

Trixie Hotel Palm Springs

This was Liberace’s house. Spot the piano postal box.
Clark Gable once called this stunner home.

Yes, it’s a home entryway, but also known locally as RoboLights. A yard filled to the brim with unique scultures and oddities.
Across the street from RoboLights. Spot the window reflections.
These A-frame homes are affectionately called Swiss Miss homes in Palm Springs.
Not necessarily a front door, but a door nonetheless, and this vintage loving gal had to share.

Which front door will you be knocking on?
