Spring Break Fashion 2026 – What To Pack: Look 1

If it’s not spring break yet for you, it’s right around the corner. If you’re not a student or parent, and thinking, “spring break, what are you talking about?” don’t worry this applies to you too. Maybe you have an upcoming vacation, are taking a weekend getaway to escape winter weather or even planning ahead for summer – if you’re going somewhere in the next couple months, let’s count it as spring break.

All month, I will be sharing some fashion inspiration and packing tips for your spring break travels. An outfit a week to give you some ideas on what to pack and how to style your looks for your next trip.

First up, a look I wore on the west coast, in the desert oasis of Palm Springs, California. Every piece of this ensemble is a staple in my wardrobe – pieces I would recommend be in any closet because they are perfect to pack for any trip. The goal with vacation packing is to make sure you can wear something more than once, in more than one way, so you have options without overpacking. But hey, if you are like me and overpack anyway, no judgment!

The star of this look, a plain, ankle-length brightly colored dress is the ultimate in versatility. It can be mixed and matched with a print or almost any other solid. You can wear it as I have with sneakers for a movement filled day, with sandals for a museum stroll or shopping, or with wedges for an evening look.

A pair of white tennis shoes might be the most worn item I own. They can literally be paired with anything, any time of year, and add comfort while looking stylish. A big plus – they can easily be cleaned at home or on the go. If you feel like adding a pop of color or a metallic punch, change the laces. For vacation days you’re on the go, walking a lot and may need a little extra support, Vionic’s white sneakers, which I am wearing here (and almost daily) are a good option, with built-in arch support.

Lastly, the vacation savior – a denim jacket. It won’t wrinkle, will go with almost anything (yes, even other denim), is the perfect layer for a daytime over a dress or sweater and will take you into night with the right accessories. I own more jean jackets than I care to admit, but this pearl-studded beauty is one I wear on repeat. It adds a little extra pizzazz to any outfit and still gives me the versatility any other jean jacket would.

A white leather purse (also a vacation must have, because again, it goes with everything), a pair of sunglasses and the backdrop of The Colony Club Palm Springs are the perfect partners for this look. Whether you are in the desert of Palm Springs or on the high seas of the Caribbean, this versatile spring break look can’t be beat.

Or can it? We shall see in next week’s post!
