Another week, another round of spring break fashion inspiration – and packing tips! This time, a tip to put every traveler’s mind at ease and give them a little extra time for fun when vacation hits.
No one wants to arrive at their destination to unpack, only to discover that their clothes are a wrinkled mess. Most of us don’t like ironing at home, so we certainly don’t want to do it on vacation. The easiest tip one can follow – pack clothes made from materials that don’t wrinkle.
If you’re wondering what materials those may be, I’ve got you covered. Denim, polyester, wool, rayon, spandex, tencel and cashmere are among the best. If you don’t have the patience to read tags, here’s an easy test for you: grab a handful of the fabric, scrunch it into a tight ball in your fist, and hold it for several seconds (a minute or longer is even better). If it wrinkles then, it’s certain to wrinkle in your suitcase.
Another easy way to avoid wrinkles is in the magic of how you pack. Rolling clothes tends to be best and will eliminate most wrinkles from most fabrics. In the chance you bring a favorite outfit that looks less than stellar upon unpacking, having a small travel steamer in your bag never hurts. It’s easy and quick to steam most outfits (and the only way to go at home too, in my opinion). Wrinkle release spray (in travel size of course) can also come in handy. A quick search on Google or Amazon and you’ll find some of the best products in these categories and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at their low cost. Read the reviews and be sure to have a good one and pack an adapter for international travel.
This blue dress is perfect for any warm-weather vacation as it doesn’t wrinkle, is incredibly comfortable and easily transitions from day to night with simple accessory changes. It’s on the shorter side, so I always like to have a pair of nude-colored shorts to wear underneath in case of a sudden gust of wind, and in the event it’s hot and I’m doing a lot of walking, to prevent any chaffing. We’ve all been their ladies, haven’t we. And the best part, folded (because it won’t wrinkle) it takes up very little room in my suitcase, even with its show stopping bold shoulders.
Have you started your spring break packing list yet? We’re in week 2 now, so it might a good time! Come back next week for another look for inspiration and even more tips.
