Best Dressed: 2022 ACM Awards

Musicians are bold in many senses, but fashion is always an extravaganza for them, no matter the genre they may be a part of. But, country artists always bring it to the next level. After all, they used to live by the motto “the higher the hair, the closer to God.” (Some still do!) They… Continue reading Best Dressed: 2022 ACM Awards

They say, if you need perspective, look up at the stars. Does wearing them work?
Isn’t she lovely! Happy Friday everyone! Hope the sun hits just right for you too. ☀️
Suits are trending again for women, and I just love it. I bought one recently that is a classic, but it’s definitely not your average, everyday suit. It’s shimmery and shiny and makes me all smiley! 😍 But it’s a sequin suit, so you know, it’s not the most practical. However I’m here to help with that! Even the sparkliest piece in your wardrobe can be styled in multiple ways. ✨This is just ONE look at how I styled my sequin suit. You can see a couple others, along with more ideas, on the blog. {link in bio}
It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Chicago, and I am in the midst of planning an international trip to a beautiful sunny place, so I thought I would do a little #takemebacktuesday to a lovely country near the one I’m visiting. 🌴Spain!🌴This picture was taken in Barcelona. As you can see it is a massive city, but it’s beautiful, tropical, and full of charm. While it is 100% touristy, one of the highlights from my time in Barcelona was riding the double decker bus around the city. It is really just the easiest way to see everything, plus you can hop on and off wherever you want to. 🚌 Any ideas where I might be off to next?
Today is Valentine’s Day, and instead of feeling an overwhelming sense of love I feel angst and sadness. Michigan State, my alma mater, my home for five years was terrorized last night and became a statistic in a long list mass shootings. Where the shooting took place was a few steps away from the dorm that I lived in for two years, where now all I can think of is how the kids in the ground floor rooms like I was in were so exposed and vulnerable. my sorority that I lived in was across the street and the home I shared with my friends at the end of college was just a couple blocks away. That campus was nothing but pure joy for me then, and now with all of my memories. I am so thankful I never once felt fearful going to class, spending time with my friends, walking across the campus or crossing the street to grab a bite to eat in the union. To say I’m sad that the students there now are being robbed of that joy, is an understatement. For the first time in years a mass shooting actually brought me to tears last night (and it’s been waterworks today) and I think that says a lot about our country right now. Because we’re so used to it and so numb that until it is literally in a place you called home and can picture, it’s hard to put emotion to it. That doesn’t mean I haven’t felt for those affected by other shootings or agonized over our loss of safety. The exact opposite actually. I recently participated in a rally with a group called @march_fourth_ to try and get senators to pass a ban on assault weapons earlier this year. At the time, I didn’t post anything or say anything because everybody is allowed their own opinions and I didn’t want to force mine down anyone’s throat. I felt called to be there and finally try to do something. No matter what you believe, it’s just a fact that guns are a problem for people who should not have them in their possession, and there needs to be more control. If you’ve been a kid on a college campus and have incredible memories and don’t want those taken from future generations now is the time to do something. [Finished in comments ⬇️]#spartanstrong
Two things I love that will hopefully make you smile on a Monday morning…a beautiful classic car and ginormous neon sign.

We dont have “royals” so to speak here in the US, but our A-list celebs might come close - at least their outfits do. See all of my favorite looks from the Golden Globes on SarahInStyle.com.
Last night was just magical! I’ve always loved the magic of Hollywood, and and all the work that goes into the art we get to enjoy. Getting to be immersed in the middle of such a big night was just incredible. The glitz, the glamour, the fashion - it just can’t be beat. ⭐️🍾🏆
