Boho Babe (Part 3)

Are you getting sick of hippie chic styles yet? I hope not, but if so I promise this is the last of them from me for a while. While visiting one of my favorite boutiques in Seaside, FL, this jumpsuit just called to me; “Sarah, try me on!” it whispered. Of course I had to, and once… Continue reading Boho Babe (Part 3)

Boho Babe (Part 1)

You’ve probably seen some boho babes wandering the streets lately and that’s because the fashion crowd recently hopped aboard a Volkswagen Beetle and traveled back in time, to the 1970’s. All over the runways and in most stores you are seeing nods to the 1970’s and hippie chic fashion. The pieces we are seeing are not polyester and… Continue reading Boho Babe (Part 1)

Reflecting on a fabulous week in Puerto Rico. Seeing and exploring a new place is a wonderful privilege and the true joy of travel. Getting to experience that place with other travel enthusiasts is even more magical. ♥️🇵🇷♥️ This was my second time at #WITS, the Women In Travel Summit, and it was just as special as the first. The conference is great and the sessions and knowledge gained are of course very helpful, but the best part is just meeting so many like minded women. They are kind, they are welcoming and they too are passionate about travel and sharing their journeys with the world. 💕 I came to know about WITS by being a member of @wanderfulcreators, which I discovered from @maximumbeth who many years ago (maybe 10 now?!) taught a class I took on starting a blog and website. That monthlong class was the push to start SarahInStyle.com. Beth opened my eyes to a lot and taught me a ton, and through this conference I can see her mission is still in full force and she is guiding so many women in travel who create content in one way, shape or form. 🌺 Ready to take what I’ve learned in Puerto Rico and at WITS and continue on this blogging journey. {Link in bio to see the site that is my passion!}
I have a theory that if you live in a town where all the buildings are brightly colored, you’ve got to be happy. 💜💛💚🧡 Do you think my theory is credible?! I should have polled the people of Old San Juan. 🇵🇷 Instead I ate gelato and admired the buildings. But that made me happy!
Waking up to palm trees and ocean waves doesn’t get old. The people of San Juan are lucky! Grateful to @discoverpuertorico and @sheswanderful for hosting a conference in this beautiful place.
I fell in love in Puerto Rico! 💕🇵🇷 With this beautiful art deco building, aptly named the Miami. I have a soft spot for anything art deco, but wow did this stunner impress. The coral color with periwinkle trim. 🤌🏻🪸Two of my favorite colors! And can we talk about the details…the rounded edges, the molding, the glass block. All just magnificent! If you’re visiting PR and wanna see her, she’s in Condado.
Is there a better place for a conference? I think not! 🌺 Pulled out all the pops of color for my conference wardrobe. Color makes me happy, whether I’m wearing it or seeing on beautiful buildings and in murals. So this is basically me in Puerto Rico ➡️ 😃!
One of my favorite things about Portugal was the beautiful tiles on so many of the buildings. 💙 They are not only decorative, but were originally used to help with regulating temperature of the interior space. Fun fact: in Lisbon, where this photo was taken, you cannot altar tile that dates back centuries. You can add it to buildings that never had it. ☀️Wouldn’t it be nice to be that person on their balcony, soaking in the sun?!
I love when a place gives me a real pinch me moment. And this place gave a big pinch! How beautiful is that building and how stunning are those flowers? Would you be surprised if I told you this was the cafeteria at the Monserrate Palace? It is! 🍰🥐🍓And the food was fresh, wonderfully priced and really delicious. (The best of all the castles I visited in Sintra, by far.) You definitely want to get the cheesecake when you visit - the lightest, fluffiest cheesecake ever. I would definitely recommend arriving to the palace around lunch and enjoying a leisurely meal before touring the beautiful grounds and home.
Another day another castle. That should be Sintra, Portugal’s motto. The @quinta.da.regaleira was gothic and dark and romantic. The grounds were lovely too. Closer to the town of Sintra, this felt like the busiest of the castles I visited but still worth the sight.
The smile of a girl who is walking through a real life fairytale. And that smile never left my face in Sintra, and was especially big at @pena.palace. 🏰 They say it’s a palace, but let’s be real, it’s a CASTLE! Not only can you explore the lush grounds and walk around the castle walls, you can see the inside where the kings and queens of Portugals yesteryear lived. And before it became their home, it was a monastery. Magical if you ask me!
The town of Sintra was probably my favorite place to visit in Portugal. It was like stepping into a Disney Fairytale. This is just one of the countless palaces in Sintra. It was a summer home back in the day. I’m ready to move into Palacio de Monserrate!
