Bow Down to Leather

A fun way to play with fashion is to try both hard and soft elements together. Think manly pieces with really girly ones, army print with a lilac pump, biker babe and girl next door, sporty and sweet…I think you get the point!

I think this orange polka-dot bow is adorable, but in order to avoid looking like Minnie Mouse while wearing it, I decided to pair it with both some tougher and sporty pieces. My purse and necklace continue the very girly look that the bow evokes, while the leather (pants and jacket) and sporty (shoes and white shirt) pieces help balance out the look and bring the bow from an accessory only a 5-year-old can wear, to one an adult can easily pull off.
