I love unpacking my spring and summer clothes each year! It’s like going shopping in your own closet. Pulling out all of the flowery, pastel hued ensembles that have been hiding away during the winter months is so refreshing. I mean, winter fashion has it’s pros, but the darker, drearier colors weigh on you after so many months. Eventually a girl just needs some blooms to cheer up her wardrobe. This dress is no exception, and a major staple in mine. It’s great for spring, transitions into summer very easily and can even carry over to fall with the right jacket and booties. I love that I can wear it both day and night, in small town USA or in the biggest cities. It’s fashionable, comfortable and totally on trend with it’s pastel periwinkle/blue color and keyhole cutout. I think small floral print is a great way for someone who might be shy of prints in general to start expanding their wardrobe. You get a lot of pattern, a lot of color and it’s still subtle.
Recently I rocked this look in the Big Apple. I just love NYC in the spring! Everything is blooming, you can finally walk around for hours without freezing, and the locals actually start smiling. I know I have talked about how pretty the blooms have been in Chicago this year, but NYC is coming in at a very close second. Such beautiful flowers everywhere you turn. Bryant Park especially so! I love sitting in the park, looking at the flowers, looking at the people (hello, great people watching place!) and just taking in all that NYC is.
I’m curious what’s a staple in your closet this season? Are you a floral print lover too?
