The summer sun is calling my name and what better way to say hello than in a bright and peppy ensemble. And some beautiful sunglasses to help keep me from being blinded by that sun! My eyes are so sensitive to the sun that I cannot go out in it without sunnies. I will literally tear up and have to close my eyes. Might just be the cause for my obsession with sunglasses. I have to thank Maui Jim for sending these beauties (below) in particular, since they not only help shield my eyes from the brightness, but they make a great fashion statement too. I normally buy “cheapy” sunglasses, as I worry about losing or breaking them, but after wearing these, I can see the world much more clearly, literally.
These pretty sunnies have lenses that are so clear and crisp, with a beautiful tint. Plus, they come with PolarizedPlus2® technology, which not only cuts down the glare (99.9% of it to be exact), but keeps my eyes safe from UV rays. I never actually knew that the sun could damage your eyes until recently. It can cause things like macular degeneration and cataracts. We of course know the damages the sun can cause to our skin, and take action to protect that, but we should be doing the same for our eyes. With Maui Jim, your eyes are safe and you will be saying “the view is better from here,” because it truly will be!
On another note, I have to ask, do you know the saying “Who let the cat out of the bag?” Well, I think Kate Spade’s team was thinking “Who let the camel out of the bag?” while designing their recent collection. Camel bags, camel jewelry, camel shoes…I mean how cute! They have the most fun accessories right now. Always, actually. I just love the whimsy in their designs. Purses that look like dinosaurs, shoes with lips all of over them, dresses with giant bows. It’s a girls fashion fantasy come true! While my camel items are Kate Spade, I found those whimsical bows at a fraction of the price. My dress is actually from H&M. Yellow isn’t a color I typically wear, but I just couldn’t resist this piece. I love putting together an outfit that is not only comfortable, but fun. Clearly I don’t shy away from color, and I think even with a bold color, you can be bold with your accessories. Fashion should be fun after all.
