The perfect start to the perfect party is the invite. It sets the tone for the whole event! These days it’s sometimes a lost art to send an actual invite. It seems the norm is a text, or if you are lucky, a quick phone call. But, I prefer to send party invitations in the mail. It’s a warm welcome to your guests, before they even get to the party! And who doesn’t like to receive snail mail?
Another way to have a perfect party – make it a summer bash! The weather is finally perfect, the sun is shining and it’s the ideal time to enjoy the season with family and friends. Of course I had to focus this month’s dining decor on a summer theme for that reason! I made my invitations on Basic Invite, in fun colors that I felt represented summer, and then planned my decor around them. And as always, I am here to say, you can have a great party without breaking the bank! I bought all of the decor at Target, some of which was in the Dollar Spot. Not only were the colors happy for summer, but so was I when clean up was done in a snap (thank you paper products). Trust me, when you have adorable plates, whimsical cups and cute straws, no one will bat an eye that they are paper. Add a palm print napkin, a funky chip and dip dish and a refreshing drink (this one from Sprig is not only tasty, it has CBD too, which offers some great health benefits), and you will have guests more than ready to celebrate summer.
I kicked off my summer party with invitations from Basic Invite. They are a nice way to extend an invitation to guests, but also a nice place holder at the table. They add a pop of color, remind people of the theme and give information. They were very easy to make, and to personalize too (custom colors, fonts, etc.). Basic Invite not only has gorgeous invitations for summer parties, but they have the perfect invitations and cards (yes, cards too!) for any occasion. Right now, they are celebrating Christmas in July and offering 15% off all deluxe holiday cards, photo holiday cards and invitations. Instead of stressing out about cards a month before Christmas, why not get that task taken care of now! I made a few samples to see what I liked and was really impressed with the ease of designing and personalizing them, the quality of the products and maybe most of all, the adorable backside of the cards/invites (which you can personalize too). Not only should people look good coming and going, your stationary should too. 😉
It’s time, time to start party planning! You have your summer party inspiration and some great ideas for the holidays. Remember, start with the invite, letting that set the tone for the party, and you will be on your way to hosting a fabulous event.
