Seeing Stars in Army Green

If I had to pick just two things I have loved lately in fashion it would be Army green and stars. They don’t necessarily have to be together, but when they are, like with this jumpsuit, that’s even better!

I have always loved the color Army green. And yes, it is in fact an actual color. It has its own RGB (red green blue) hex number, #4b5320, so it’s official. Army green is a strong color without being too bold, and it acts as a neutral. Think of Army green and how much you can pair it with – black, tan, burgundy, navy, white, plum, blush. I could go on, but you get the point! Funny enough the US Army’s official colors are black and gold. But they are known for their green uniforms, designed to help camouflage them (in this case one-tone camo) into their environment. Lucky for us, Army green has become a staple in the fashion industry and in many of our closets.

The fact that I am already talking about my current love for Army green probably makes it ironic to say I’m also loving stars. It’s not the patriotic citizen in me, although I do thank our service men and women, it’s just worlds colliding. The star shape, when it comes to fashion, has been a love of mine over the past couple years. It started with one sweater, grew to two, moved into jewelry and has continued to make many appearances in my ensembles. Stars signify a few things to me – power, strength, sparkle, talent and showmanship to name a few. It’s maybe why I am drawn to them, as these are all things that I hope to excel at within my own life. Shapes that often remind us of our young years, can be modernized into our current wardrobes.

My point with all of this stars and Army green talk isn’t just to tell you I love them, or to show off a fun outfit (although, fashion inspiration, we all want it!) it’s to strike a point I have made many times before. Fashion is more than just the clothes we put on our back. Whether it’s conscious or unconscious (like when you open your closet and realize you have 20 pink shirts), what you wear makes a statement. Maybe that statement is about who you are now, or who you want to be. Maybe it’s about comfort, power, beauty. I encourage you to look into your warbrobe and see what stories it’s telling about you! After that, I encourage you to get a great jumpsuit (doesn’t have to be Army green), and whatever accessories speak to you, that’ll make you feel like the most confident version of you. This look definitely does that for me!
