Best Dressed: 2025 EMMY Awards

Since I was a little girl, watching the stars walk the red carpet has been a favorite pasttime. I would get so excited to see who would arrive and what they were wearing. Sure their work in the project they were supporting, especially for awards shows was probably equally as exciting, but as a fashion girl in a small town, I just loved seeing all the glitz and glamour. Fast forward a few decades, and my younger self would be in awe of adult me getting to see the glitz and glamour up close and personal. I still get excited for each and every awards show red carpet! And while at this age I know more about the projects that are nominated, and in this industry, I know more about the stars (some of whom I have been lucky to interview), but I am still just so thrilled to see who will arrive and what they will be wearing.

I was lucky enough to attend the 2025 Emmys, and have to say, while video and photo footage of the event is pretty high definition these days, there is something magical about seeing these looks in the flesh. (And boy do some show a lot of flesh.) The texture of Cate Blachett’s jumpsuit is more visible when she passes you in the restroom. Jenna Ortega’s bejeweled top litterally clangs as she passes you in the hallway. Alexis Bledel’s gown shimmering so elegantly in the spotlights. While the looks are often more stunning in person, it doesn’t make the job of picking my best dressed any easier, but this fashion gal is always up for the task! So, here are my picks for best dressed at the 2025 Emmys.

Katherine Lanasa (The Pitt) in Jason Wu: up close, there was not one thing out of place, not even a hair in the perfect updo – perfection
Abby Elliott (The Bear)
Jennie Garth in Rafik Zaki
Angela Basset in Yara Shoemaker: the woman literally was glowing in person, and also apparently does not age
Jackie Tohn (Nobody Wants This) in Marmar Halim
Jeff Hiller (Winner for Somebody Somewhere): love a man who can rock a glittering pink suit
Brittany Snow (The Hunting Wives) in Wiederhoeft
Lisa in Lever Couture
Selena Gomez (Only Murders In The Building) in Louis Vuitton: she was just radiant in person, and this color looked lovely on her
Syndey Sweeney: another gal who looks so great in red
Erin Foster & Sara Foster (Nobody Wants This): both of these gals were just glowing, the success of their show is clearly bringing them joy
Lauren Graham (in Akris) & Alexis Bledel (in Marmar Halim) had a special Gilmore Girls reunion on the red carpet and during the show
Jenna Ortega in Givenchy: this may be less than thrilling in photos, but in person the workmanship and creativity was on full display
Lisa Ann Walter (Abbott Elementary) in Christian Siriano: she looked her absolute best, truly flawless in this ensemble and the pattern and shape really stood out among the crowd – plus she arrived arm in arm with her Parent Trap costar Elaine Hendrix
Wendie Malick (The Chicken Sisters)
Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive
Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio) in Thom Browne: this dress gave so much in person, the structure was intense and so well exectued and the back was laced from top to bottom, plus her earrings were so funky and the perfect match with the dress
Anna Sawai in Armani Prive
Sam Nivola (The White Lotus) in Dior
Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary) in DVF: truly one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen
Colman Domingo in Valentino
