The Emmys opened with a new slang term, DTW – Down to Watch, and the opening number gave the audience some pep in their step, well their seat. The song was catchy, the vocals just so-so, and the product placement (looking at you United and Marriott) was odd but also genius.
The coolest thing Mariska Hargitay, and Emmy winner herself, did was show off how screens have changed over the years – you can now watch TV on your phone or even in the sky – but that doing so in a silver dress is the best way. She looked impeccable on stage, and so did her peers as they walked the red carpet.
Fashion truly was at the next level this year on the Emmys red carpet. And fashion lovers needed it, as the last few years have been what some might call lackluster. All the shimmer and shine, sequins and sparkles helped correct that! Of course there were trends too, satin and slim silhouettes were hot this year, and lots of white, purples and red.
Without further ado, here are my picks for best dressed at the 2026 Emmy Awards.
