Considering  I’ve hit an age where I’m not even sure how you watch music videos without the guidance of MTV and TRL, I think my days of watching the MTV VMAs are numbered. I don’t know some of the songs. I don’t know some of the artists. But, I do still know the fashion, and I still love it.

Now, whether or not there was a of lot of looks to love on the 2026 VMAs red carpet is debatable.

Madonna, who won for best dance song said that “we’re all equals on the dance floor.” Surely, she is right, but not everyone is equal on the red carpet.  Some brought their A-game, while others just didn’t understand the assignment.

The VMAs red carpet should be fresh and funky, glam with a side of punk, not too casual, not too fancy. Here are those that met my criteria, and my picks for best dressed at the 2026 VMAs.
