Okay, question for you…when you think of Meghan Trainor and her music, what comes to mind? Is it girl power? I think for most people that sticks out for sure, and I saw that firsthand this week at her concert here in Chicago. Thanks to Tampax and their Always Radiant Collection, I enjoyed a special night out, attending Meghan’s sound check, meeting her before the show, and of course, dancing my booty off during the show.
I love Meghan’s message. She is all about being confident in your skin and loving yourself. Tampax and Always Radiant Collection loves it too and wants girls to know you can wear what you want, and with that I think it’s safe to say you should do what you want and say what you want. You know, BE YOURSELF!
So many young girls were at the concert and it is nice to know in this crazy world we live in, that they have wonderful role models like Meghan, and her opening act, Hailee Steinfeld. (And let me tell you, these girls love Meghan and Hailee. I don’t know that I have ever heard screams so loud. And I’ve been to my fair share of boy band concerts.) But then again, all girls need role models, right? Whether you a 9 or 29, someone sending positive messages your way is a wonderful thing.
Beyond the girl power, be yourself message, I have to say the girl is the real deal. She is incredibly sweet, and she can sing, sing, sing…and flawlessly I might add. I knew all of her big hits of course, but I LOVED every single song she sang. It was a true dance party! And if you have not been to a concert at Rosemont Theater, you should. Perfect venue. Every seat is a good one, parking is very easy, and best of all, so is leaving. Record time of exiting a concert parking lot, which was under 3 minutes.
And because it’s always fun to know some unique facts about our fave celebrities, here are some about Meghan I learned during sound check: Her favorite color is turquoise. She wants to do a duet with Michael Buble, Bruno Mars or Beyonce. She loves onsies. (Obvious from the picture, right?!) Her favorite song to perform right now is Champagne Problems. She can play the trumpet, among other instruments. She has a puppy named Biggie.
