If you live in the Midwest like me, or anywhere that experiences a true winter, you probably would agree that by the end of January you are in major need of some steady sunshine and a little weather warm up. Luckily for me, my parents winter in Florida, so I have a great reason to head south…plus great people to spend my time with and a beautiful place to go. Going from Chicago to Florida, even though I do it every year, I am always surprised  waking up each day and see sun, usually without fail it is there. We just don’t get that steady sunshine here, so it is a welcome change! It’s true what they say, sun really can brighten you from the inside out. Spending my time in Destin, I usually expect more spring-like weather, since it is in northern Florida. However, this year Destin, like the rest of the country, is experiencing unusually warm winters. A total advantage to me! It was great to be able to spend time on the beach, riding bikes, taking a dip in the pool, and really just enjoying time outside, getting fresh air. It really was the perfect time to recharge my batteries! I travel a lot, and am lucky to be able to, but sometimes a vacation with more downtime is needed. Even when on the go in Destin, it’s still such a laid back beach vibe, I feel well rested. And let’s not even get started on getting plenty of sleep, boy is that always a great perk of vacation.
