You never really know what to expect on the red carpet for the Grammy Awards. Musicians really do express themselves in such unique ways. It makes for such a fun viewing experience, both on the carpet and at the show. I love that they take risks with fashion. Whether they make the best dressed list, or the worst, they don’t have any fear. Music is all about expression, so the fashions of the artists who make it really should be no different, right?

Well, last night was no exception. The singers, presenters, and even the bystanders brought their A games. Lots of trends last night, but I think the biggest were jewel tones, pant suits and sparkle/beading. So many ladies showed up in shades of green and purple, and they looked gorgeous. Sparkle and beading has been a theme at all of the awards shows so far this year and I am LOVING IT! My favorite designers of the night were Zuhair Murad (who is always dressing celebs that make my best dressed lists) and Balmain. Such elegance and fun, all wrapped into one, in their designs.

The show itself was just as good as the red carpet. James Corden always kills it and is a joy to watch. And the thing with music is that it’s really in our daily lives, so we usually know the songs and artists, even if we think we might not. A lot of times, with other awards shows, you don’t know many of the movies and TV shows, but music is so much more universal. It has a way of moving people across all generations, races and genders. My favorite performance of the night was probably the Bee Gee’s tribute! I’ve always been a Bee Gee’s fan, thanks to my dad. I’ve seen them in concert (well, Barry Gibb), listened to their songs a million times, and just love their music, so it was fun to see all of those amazing singers, from different genres, pay tribute to them. And seeing my favorite, Celine Dion, present, looking stunning in her second ensemble of the evening…well, that was just perfection!

The ladies above made my best dressed list, but who made yours? And what were your favorite highlights of the night?
