While it didn’t happen this year (or last), I am not counting it out forever. What’s that you ask? New York Fashion Week of course! It’s on my bucket list…well, actually I would prefer it be on my to do list as an attendee each year…but, with my loftier goals aside, a one time visit would suffice. (It happens twice a year, so my odds are good right?!) I love following along through fellow bloggers journeys to fashion week, designers and models social media feeds, and in all the best fashion mags. It always makes me want to go to my closet, pick out my most inspirational ensemble, and strut my stuff. Not only is it fun to just watch endless fashion shows, but it’s great to see what trends are coming. These shows set the tones for the upcoming seasons — fabrics that will be used, textiles that will inspire, embellishments that will be everywhere, and colors that will be the next big thing. And it’s not just at the designer level. From these shows, more mainstream stores draw inspiration as well.
With so many designers being showcased, and so many fabulous looks walking the runways, it’s not easy to pick just a handful to share with you….so I am sharing two handfuls! These are not only my favorites, but also things I think we will see a lot of, in many ways, in the spring.
It’s not just the runways that showcase amazing clothes during Fashion Week. Street style is pretty impressive too. All of the people attending the shows go all out to look the part of the uber fashionista. Whether it’s classy and glam, or grungy and cool, you will see it all as people mill around, making their way to the next show. Sometimes the street style becomes more of the trend to come than even the runway style. Below are a few of my favorites from the attendee looks this year!
Trends To Keep An Eye Out For In Spring 2017:
- Lots of white
- Brights, like yellow and orange
- Geometric Cutouts
- Duster Jackets
Are you feeling inspired? Ready to head to your closet, pick your most inspiration ensemble and strut your stuff? I sure hope so. Happy trendsetting fashion lovers! And if you liked this post, check out last years – Fashion Week Hi-Lo Edition.
