Can you feel it? Can you smell it? Spring is in the air! It’s time to dust off our warm weather wardrobe, put on peppy pops of color and breathe a little easier (or at least a little warmer) as we move into a new season. I work color into my wardrobe year round since it just makes me happy from the inside out, but there is something especially sweet about it this time of year, seeing colors that evoke an upbeat attitude. And I am not sure there is anything more upbeat than a bright, bold pink pant!
It’s possible pink pants make you pause and question if you would like a clown. As I always say, it’s all about accessorizing just right. What you pair with the boldest piece of your outfit will set the mood for the whole look. I wanted to go for a relaxed, California beach-chic vibe, so I paired my poppy pink pants with a soft chambray shirt layered over a simple white tank. Classic gold sandals and chunky gold jewelry add a touch of elegance and bling, while spunky sunnies and a simple hat keep it fresh. What I love about this look is that I could walk the beach, walk into brunch or walk the city streets and still look perfectly placed.
Sometimes it’s not just the color we put into our outfits that brings happiness to our day, it’s also the color in our surroundings. Choose to surround yourself with colors that make you happy! While in Florida over the winter my family and I were driving around sightseeing (because Covid – what else is there to do) and happened upon the cutest little place with the perfect pops of colors. A roadside restaurant, situated within lush palms and greenery, bedecked in orange tiles and mid-century modern furnishings that instantly reminded me of a 1950’s gas station. Retro, cute and full of joy! Just as color should be – and perfectly paired with pink pants.
As the seasons change and we come into warmer months, sunnier days and hopefully happier times (again Covid – go away please), pull out your brightest, boldest pants, your favorite accessories and go on an adventure to find a cute new spot that brings an instant smile to your face and makes you happy.

Thank you!! I say go for it – incorporate as much as you want, or even just a little bit. Pops of color in accessories are fun too!
