I’m never shy to say it, I don’t like cold weather. However, there is one BIG plus of living in a four season city, and that’s getting to take advantage of all the fashions for all the seasons. So, I must ask, what’s one fall/winter fashion you can’t live without? For me, one staple I love this time of year is boots. All forms – booties, knee highs, thigh highs, I love them all! Not only do they add warmth when needed, they add lots of style. I love that you can find a boot for any occasion, from the most casual day to the fanciest event.

Right now, it’s on trend to really mix it up with your boots too – think boots with dresses, or boots with shorts and tights. When done right, it can really be a statement, while being a simple (and comfy one) to make! You just have to stick to the right season and weather for where you are. I could live in dresses year round, and as long as I can get away with no tights, I will. However, once the temps drop, the tights come on. Tan boots though are hard to wear with tights, so I pair them with jewel toned dresses in fall, then jeans in winter.
I’ve harped on it before, but taking a core outfit and switching up the accessories is a great way to make a new look. You don’t even have to swap that much! In this case, I just changed my boots and earrings and ditched the headband – and voila, a whole new look for a whole new day (or a different part of the same day – I’m looking at you day-to-night styles).

Can you guess the fashion lesson of the day? It’s easy, you can never have too many boots! And if you’ve been playing a drinking game because I’ve said boots so many times, just do a double take in the mirror and check your look before you leave the house. 😉
