This year, more than most others, it seems I blinked and here we are at the holidays. Nearing the 2 year mark on a global pandemic and a lot of chaos in the world, I am very grateful for all the joy this year has brought. The holidays always expand on that, this year even more so, as Christmas was basically cancelled last year. As I prepare to finally see family for this special occasion, I start to think about the yummy foods we’ll be eating, the fancy clothes we will be donning, and how we will be wrapping up the past year – hopefully in a big, lovely bow.
You might say I have taken that quite literally, as I have set a ‘bowtiful’ holiday table to feast and give thanks. Dining decor really sets the mood for the celebration, and with a lot gratitude for what I have, plus a love of all things pretty and girly, what better way to dress my table than in bows. While your decor is a reflection of you, it also sets the mood for the event. At this celebratory time, I wanted color and happiness reflected in my dining decor.
I started with a beautiful wintery blue Loom & Table tablecloth (with a hint of sparkle and shine), then I followed a class winter rule…layer! I added glitzy silver placemats, topped with silver chargers, then topped again, this time with pink flower chargers, finally capped off with bow shaped napkins, and of course, a bit of bling on the napkin ring. I kept the middle of the table simple, with some candles and coordinating disco ball tree ornaments, plus my card stand (which is vintage and was an ugly color that I spray this lovely teal).
However you wrap up this year, be sure to make it a bowtiful holiday, and let your mood be reflected in all aspects of your celebration!
