It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring. He went to bed and bumped his head and couldn’t get up in the morning. But, it’s highly unlikely it was due to a head injury, he probably didn’t want to get up because he didn’t have a great pair of wet weather boots.
That’s right, it’s slushy season. What’s that, you ask? (If you ask, it’s probably because you live in a warm weather location.) No, not the sweet frozen kind from the movie theater. It’s that time of year in cold climates where wet weather is a given and the streets and sidewalks are always covered in some sort of slush – could be rain, snow, sleet, ice, heck, maybe all of the above. It’s not ideal, especially when you live in a city where you walk everywhere, and when you love fashion. Not only do I need my feet to stay dry and warm as I trek through the slush, I need to look good doing it!
Styling winter fashions can be a nuisance. Afterall, it’s cold and miserable outside (if you can’t tell, cold and snow aren’t my thing – unless I’m skiing). But, if you look on the bright side – even through grey skies – there are lots of positives too. You can wear these cute Sperry boots, maybe with chunky socks, you can layer your favorite shirts and sweaters, you can wear bold coats, and you can top off the look with cute hats, scarves and gloves. Slushy streets are no reason for a slushy attitude, just make it slushy style and put on a smile!
