As you have seen from my past dining decor posts, and can likely tell from my dining chairs alone, I clearly love color. I never shy away from it, as it truly brings me happiness. Many others are not in the same boat when it comes to decor, and prefer to stick with nuetrals and keep “quiet and calm” tones in their home. I am here to say, quiet and calm doesn’t have to be bland and boring. Pastels are a prime example!
Pastels are muted versions of brighter, bolder colors. They allow us to infuse color into our spaces in a more subtle way. The perfect place to play with color, especially pastels, especially in spring and at Easter, is with your dining decor. You can have the most nuetral of homes (or the brighest), and still have fun with pastels on your dining table! Maybe it’s through a tablecloth, napkins, placemants, place cards, glassware, silverware. Maybe it’s all of the above.
Somebunny loves pastels, and that somebunny is me! You can see I chose “all of the above” and have used pops of pastel on this table in ever layer. It’s soft and beautiful, and at the same time feels calm and quiet. This mix of pink, blue, yellow and green is the perfect blend for spring, especially so for Easter. With simple tweaks you can tailor this table to your desires. Maybe you don’t celebrate Easter and are just enjoying a cheerful spring meal – change the fold of your napkins, and remove the eggs and Easter grass. (But aren’t these bunny folded napkins oh so cute? It’s amazing what you can learn on Youtube.)
What I love about dining decor, which I have said before, and I will always say, is that it so versatile and so fun, and requires very little effort and often very little money. As you start to build up your decor drawer (or multiples, like I have!) you can start to interchange pieces and create a whole new look and feel, for any event or season. You can always find ispiration on tablescape ideas here on SarahInStyle, and all over Pinterest. Just make sure to make it yours, and that ensures somebunny will love it!
