Theater is an immersive entertainment experience! It truly puts you in the moment, in the midst of the story playing out in front of you. Like TV and movies, it’s an escape from everyday life. But, with theater, you can feel the emotions of the actors, and those actors have to bring their A game every single performance. Which is often 6-8 shows a week, 6 days a week. Whether it’s a song and dance number in a big musical, or a heartfelt crying scene in a drama, they have to make you feel it in the moment. The Tony Awards, in it’s 75th year, honor those who bring the stage to life, who bring their characters to life and who bring the energy (whatever type that may be) to every performance, both in front of and behind the curtain. Theater was a bit on hold over the last couple years through the pandemic, so when it came back in the fall of 2021, we ran to claim our seats. The Tony Awards is certainly a celebration of that! It’s also a time for these Broadways stars to get all glammed up, walk the red carpet and show us who they are when they’re not representing their characters.
Here are my picks for best dressed at the 2022 Tony Awards…

I am lucky that my mom introduced me to theater as a very young girl. We had season tickets every year to see all the touring Broadway shows that visited my hometown. I am grateful that I have had theater in my life for most of it, and that I still find joy in almost every show I see. (There have only been a few questionable ones!) The minute the theaters re-opened following the pandemic, I was ready to attend, mask and all! Here are the best shows I have seen (so far) in 2022, that I highly recommend…

If you ever need other recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask. I have many favorites I would gladly share.
