Last night Hollywood celebrated it’s biggest night at the 97th annual Academy Awards, aka the OSCARS! While there was a lot of diversity in the films nominated, the red carpet leading up to the event was a little less varied. I actually had to wonder, was there a memo sent out with a dress code for colors you could wear? If so, I think Michelle Yeoh’s got lost in the mail. But I am here for it – in a sea of neutrals (yes, gold and silver are considered nuetrals – they can be mixed and matched with almost anything), she stood out in a beautiful, brilliant blue. The Oscars red carpet fashion trends for 2025 were A LOT of neutrals (I’m talking to you black, white, gold, silver), some pops of red, velvet, lace, voluminous silhouttes and mermaid gowns. We even learned some telling things from the fashions – Jon M. Chu, the director of Wicked wore green. Do we have an Elphaba fan on our hands?
Another thing we learned, hair didn’t seem to be a priority for many of the stars for this red carpet. Tossed and tossled with a gown has a place, but in my opinion it’s not the Oscars. So this time around, I thouht it would be fun to share one thing I really love about each look on my Oscars best dressed list, and one thing I would change. Since there was less spice on the red carpet, I figured I would add it here. Without further ado, here are my picks for best dressed at the 2025 Oscars. Who wore your favorite look?
