City of stars, are you shining just for me? City of stars, there’s so much that I can’t see. Who knows? I felt it from the first embrace I shared with you, that our dreams, they’ve finally come true.

In that city of stars, Hollywood of course, so many dreams came true last night. A goal most people in Hollywood have is to make it to the Oscars, whether that be just attending, being nominated or winning, it tops their list. For most of those with Oscars as one of life’s major goals, a good majority dream of making it to the tops of the best dressed list as well. Last night the contenders were out in full force. Gorgeous ensemble after gorgeous ensemble walked the red carpet. What I love about Oscars fashion is that it is truly a time to both take risks and to embrace old-Hollywood glamour. The colors, the fabrics, the shapes, the makeup, the hair…it all ties together the old and the new. The trends of the night seemed to be dark colors, mainly black, and gold. Nothing speaks to old-Hollywood glamour more than these items, especially when done in satin, velvet or intricate beading, which many were wearing. Normally, a lot of dark colors is not what I would gravitate towards, but these women did it so incredibly well!

With so many great looks last night, it was very hard to name my best dressed, but alas, I have. How do we compare? Are our best dressed some of the same?

P.S. Can we talk for just a minute about Justin (Timberlake) opening the show? One of fashions biggest nights and one of my favorite men, all in one place…my heart was happy! That lady right above, boy is she lucky!
