If you’ve been in a gym since the start of the new year, you’ve probably run into the same story as most other gym-going Americans…crowds. It happens every year as people make their New Years resolutions, to get fit and lose weight. For January and February the gyms fill up. Classes are at capacity and lines form for the treadmills. Especially in the Midwest, where we can’t easily escape outside to get a workout in during these months. What’s my solution? Escape to a sunny location and get exercise in the great outdoors! I know, I know, not an actual solution, but it is for sure something I enjoy while on vacation in warm weather climates in the winter. I try to spend as much time as I can outdoors. It could be biking, hiking or simply walking along the beach, and I am content. It’s a perfect way to sneak in exercise and enjoy the weather.
Of course any workout, in the actual gym or in Mother Nature’s gym, can be made even better by a cute outfit. I don’t know about you, but a fun piece of clothing can really motivate me. If you feel good putting it on, it’s almost a given that it will propel me to get out and move. You know what they say, “the better you look, the better you feel.” And why not look cute while you’re sweatin’ in the sun! When I found these palm print pieces, my heart fluttered. (Cotton On has great workout wear at incredibly great prices. I stumbled upon their pieces a few years back and have really stocked up since!) They look great in the tropics, but lift my mood even on the grayest of days in my Midwest gym, at the start of a new year, as I wait in line for the next open machine.
With an outfit as cute as this one, it makes it easy to go from gym to errands in one fell swoop. The only thing to worry about – the hair! After a nice sweat sesh, my hair tends to fall a little flat. Wait, who am I kidding, a lot flat. Not a problem if I am headed home to shower, but if I have places to go after, I need a quick refresh. Well, I found just the ticket item. BANGS! That’s right, I said bangs. They are actually clip-in and take a “hey I just took a 60 minute hot yoga class and am greasy” look to a “hey I just worked out but you’d never know” look. Clip them in, add a cute headband, spritz yourself with perfume (duh!) and voila – you look fresh as a daisy. No blush needed since you have a rosy glow from your time sweatin’ in the sun, like I did here.

Looks fun – No place better to be than Florida during the winter.
I could not agree more!
