Pretty in Palms: The Perfect Summer Slides

The season of white pants has arrived! Okay, okay, I actually think you can wear white year round, and I don’t follow that old faux pas that white can only be worn between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but it sure is more fun to wear when warmer weather hits. I think that white is even better when paired with stripes and palm print, and of course, the beach. Luckily, I’ve already had a few beach excursions this summer, and recently got to put all of these items together in one summery look, which truly made me feel pretty in palms.

Now that we know white is being worn in full swing, let’s talk about the perfect accessory to add to any white ensemble (or any outfit in general) this summer: these palm print slides. Can we just say AMAZING?! Slides, or mules as they are more formally known, are all the rage right now, and finding a palm print pair, well, let’s just say they made my heart skip a beat. Literally! I am sure you are well aware of my love for all things palms (see more here, here and here), and putting them on my feet is an easy way to bring a smile to my face all day! To keep this otherwise all white outfit from being too plain, I added a striped top – because who does not love blue and white stripes? Such a classic combo. I also added a fun contrasting zig-zag clutch in gold, with a palm print tassel. Tassels are a fun way to change a bag and make it look completely different. This particular one helps tie the whole look together from the palm print slides on bottom all the way to the top. Add some fun fringe earrings (also very popular this year), in a muted rose gold so they are not too over the top, and classic brown sunnies, and you have the perfect “summer white” look that will be ideal for a day at the beach or a stroll in the city.
