Don’t you love it when you are shopping and you find a steal? And I mean a real steal? It’s the best feeling. It’s also something that can make you go outside your fashion comfort zone a bit. Getting something at a great price, that is not something you might normally wear, can tempt you to try it. After all, if you don’t love it, you won’t lose much. Well, recently that find for me was this red dress.

Now, I am not normally a lady in red (pink – of course!), as it can be hard to find shades that look good on my skin. But I was shopping with my mom while visiting her in Florida and was just browsing when I came across this cute dress. Guess how much? Okay, you won’t be able to, it’s just not believable. It was a whopping $9. A real steal, wouldn’t you agree?

I figured I would go for it, buy the cheap dress, that I thought was cute and see how it worked out. In the end, I could get one use out of it at the least, and would be out less money than a typical work-day lunch costs. I became the lady in red! Being in Florida makes it easy of course to be enticed by bright, bold colors, so I had fun styling this new find with some of my favorites poppy pieces. Exhibit A – pink sandals (yes, you can mix pink and red – they actually complement each other very well), with a pineapple – I mean how cute! Exhibit B – a pineapple purse, because, why not!

The lesson here is simply to find fun new pieces that make you jump outside your fashion comfort zone. It doesn’t always have to be intentional, just keep your eyes peeled when you are shopping, and look for your lady in red moment (and pink!). Hopefully it will be steal just like mine was.
