One of the most fun parts of the holiday season is decorating for it! I am not normally the host for holiday meals, so my decorating expertise doesn’t usually extend into the kitchen or dining room, but this year I took a swing at it, as I hosted Thanksgiving for my parents. I love my everyday dish ware, but wanted to do something a little more festive (while still reasonably priced) for the special day. This was Thanksgiving for me, but would work equally well for Christmas, New Year’s, or maybe even just a fun little dinner party!
This table is designed for easy clean up! The plates are from a party store and can just be tossed when you are finished eating. They really do look like fine china though. The chargers are fun magenta flowers that I have had for years, and they go really well with my chairs and my Christmas bulbs, which I have incorporated into my centerpieces. Add coordinating cloth napkins, with whimsical napkin rings, and wah-lah, a pretty place setting. I added the little burlap bags with gold glitter polka-dots as my party favors. They just have little chocolates inside, but you could put anything you like in them. Always fun to send your guests away with a memento to remember your time together.
What are your tips and tricks for decorating a festive table?
Happy Holidays!
