While Chicago is now home, I always enjoy a weekend back in Michigan, my original home! The saying is right, home truly is where the heart is…and often times my heart is still tugged by Michigan. Although, like Chicago, the weather there is pretty unpredictable, so packing can be a challenge. Mix and match items, layering pieces, and (this time of year) WARM outfits are ideal. My body craves warm weather, so fall and winter are far from my favorites, but I will admit that fall fashion can be fun! Here is  peek at a recent weekend I spent in my hometown.

You’ll see me in these leather pants and green jacket A LOT. They are staples in my closet this time of year. Each season I actually buy a couple pairs of the pants to keep on rotation. And I love that tennis shoes are so “in” right now, since those too are a staple in my wardrobe. As much as I love, and I mean LOVE, my heels, any city dweller can agree…shoes that you can walk in comfortably, quickly become a necessity.
