This past weekend Chicago gave a little teaser of spring. It was sunny and 50’s and just glorious for January. It made me miss the days of not needing a full blown marshmallow coat to keep me warm. Although, we have been lucky this winter, so I really can’t complain. But in honor of warmer days to come, I thought I would highlight one of my favorite new “coat” additions this year. (You all know my obsession with coats!) This one is a great navy vest with faux fur. It’s a fun piece to dress up or down. Now let’s see how long until I can wear it again without needing long underwear underneath.
STYLING TIPS: If you think a faux fur vest might not be for you, just think of ways to add a bit of flair to make it your own. For this outfit, a plaid shirt was definitely not the first thing I thought of pairing with it, but the colors went so well together, I gave it a try. And guess what? I loved it. My next thought was how I could make a loose and casual shirt more tailored, so I buttoned it all the way to the top and added a sleek statement necklace. Ripped jeans add a little bit of relaxation to all that buttoned-up-ness (not a word, I know) on top. I added some simple brown boots and an on trend bucket bag (yes, you can pull off white in winter) and I was all set.
