I must admit, I have never been a big lover of plaid. I’ve never really liked it on myself, and only occasionally liked it on others. Preppy plaid I would have to say has always been more preferable than lumber jack plaid, but still not super high on my list of fashion favorites. Maybe it was all those years wearing a plaid skirt or jumper in Catholic school, or maybe I am just plaid averse. However, when I came upon this dress while shopping a few months back, it caught my eye. Something about it I just really liked! I gave it a try-on, and surprisingly loved it.
It’s cut on the bias, so is actually very flattering, which you cannot say for a lot of plaid looks. It’s a great length, that can be dressed down with flats or boots, and dressed up with heels. It packs wonderfully, with no wrinkles whatsoever. And best of all, it allowed me to get in on the winter plaid trend, that I usually shy away from. I definitely feel pretty in plaid when wearing this dress!

Since I am feeling the plaid spirit, I thought I would share with you some other cute plaid pieces you could add to your wardrobe this winter. You may want to go bold and wear a head-to-toe plaid look, like my dress, or you may go a little subtler with a collar popping out of your sweater. Either way, I just recommend, if something calls to you in the store, try it on. You may not normally gravitate towards something, but you never know what might happen if you give it a chance!
