In anticipation of a post I’ll be sharing later this week about Pink Palaces, I figured why not just make it a pink week! Everyone could use some cheery pink in their life, especially since it’s a cold and grey winter for half the world right now. What better way to do pink than with some palm leaves, and in Cuba? No better way, you say? Well, good, because that’s what this outfit and these pictures are all about.
I am still pinching myself that 2017 included a trip to Cuba for me. What an experience it was! (Read more about it here and here.) And these “pink pics” were taken at one of their most renowned restaurants, La Guarida. The restaurant has a pretty interesting backstory, and a pretty good menu. Although, I won’t lie, I was sad it was the one place I saw salad on the menu, and when I ordered it, they told me they were out. But, I didn’t let that sway my view of the place. Especially since you have to walk through the beautiful space pictured here to get to the restaurant. I mean how picturesque right?! It’s what you would call “goals” for the distressed look. However, it’s Au Natural. That’s Cuba for you.
This Topshop pink palm skirt is a staple in my wardrobe (you’ve seen it before), for a few reasons. A: It’s got palm leaves on it. B: It’s made of neoprene and is very comfortable. C: It’s perfect to dress up or down. D: Doesn’t it just scream “HAVANA, ooh na na, half of my heart is in HAVANA, ooh na na.” See what I did there?! [If you don’t know that song, you must listen to it!]
