Fashion should be fun, and what’s more fun than bright, bold colors?! Winter, for many of us, myself included, is spent mostly in cold, grey places where it’s hard to get any pep in your step. Maybe it’s because your feet are numb from the cold. But, more likely it’s because everything around looks dreary and dull. One of the simplest ways I like to brighten and warm things up during winter is through fashion. And I don’t just mean layering sweaters to stay warm. I’m talking about adding color – and lots of it – to my wardrobe.
If you have followed along on Sarah In Style for a while, you likely know how obsessed I am with coats. It might be one of the reasons I continue to live in the Midwest. In particular, I have a thing for colored coats. In addition to this blue one, I have a green coat, a coral coat and a pink one – and that’s just to name a few. They help set the mood for the season for me! If it’s a cold day, I’m out walking the windy streets of Chicago, seeing all the passerby in grey and black, my pop of color just makes me smile.
Since fashion is all about expression of yourself, why not accentuate the color in more ways than one! This look lets the colors shine, in almost every shade of the rainbow. Neon is a hot trend at the moment, and while it’s bright and bold, it doesn’t mean it has to be limited to one piece in an outfit. It can be layered and still look chic and classy, while being loud and proud. (As an added bonus, you’ll be safer walking near traffic!)
